♣STORY PLOT
♠ Seok-woo, a fund manager by profession, isn’t able to spend quality time with his daughter, Su-an. He plans to visit his separated wife in Busan to make it up to Su-an.

♠ Their co-passengers on board the train from Seoul to Busan include people from different walks of life – a CEO, a husband and pregnant wife, a group of high school kids, a couple of elderly sisters and a homeless man.

♠ As the train departs, a convulsing young woman boards the train with a bite wound on her leg. She soon turns into a zombie and attacks a train attendant, who then turns into a zombie. The virus quickly spreads throughout the train, carriage from carriage.

♠ The next stop for the train is Daejeon, a town placed under military confinement. When the passengers try to get off the train, they realize the military personnel have been turned into zombies too. What will happen next? More zombies coming through…

♠ With no other option left, the passengers go back to boarding the infected train, but the zombies attack them. Seong-kyeong, In-gil and the homeless man try to stay safe into a bathroom with Su-an. Looking at the dire situation, the conductor swiftly restarts the train to head to Busan.

♠ Seok-Woo takes Sang-hwa and Yong-guk with him to find his daughter who is missing from her seat in the train. But he is chased by a group of passengers who are infected.
♠ Seok-Woo and Sang-hwa try hard to keep them away while Yong-guk tries to break the locked door to stay safe. Meanwhile, Sang-hwa is infected and before he turns into a zombie completely, he gives his wife’s responsibility to Seok-Woo.

♠ Seok-woo thinks Yon-suk is responsible for Sang-hwa and In-gil’s deaths because he refused them entry. Just then, Jong-gil, one of the oldest sisters, sees In-gil as a zombie, blames fellow passengers for being selfish and angrily opens the door for the infected ones to enter and kill the passengers. But Yon-suk and an attendant are saved as they take shelter in one of the restrooms.

♠ There is an unexpected halt for the train as the rail track is blocked at East Daegu station. They find another train to escape but are attacked immediately. Jin-hee is throwed towards the zombies by Yon-suk to avoid the attack. And so, Jin-hee completely infected and bites Yong-suk who was actually trying to comfort her.

♠ Seok-woo, Su-an and Seong-kyeong board the locomotive. But they see Yon-suk turning into a zombie and Seok-woo tries to fight but he also gets bitten and throws Yon-suk off the train.

♠ Seok-woo pleads Seong-kyeong to take care of his daughter and commits suicide by falling off the train to prevent others from getting bitten by him.

♠ Finally, there are two survivors at the end of the blocked tunnel who walk through it and are spotted by soldiers. But just when the soldiers are about to fire, they hear Su-an singing. She continues to sing while they both are rescued from this unforgettable journey on the train to Busan… …
–The END of story–
♣BEST MEMORABLE SCREEN of the movie

♣ I think the most impressive part of the movie is when the main character, Seok-woo, finds out that all the tragedy is caused by himself, heard from his staff upon his selfish behavior of being as a fund manager. It is the moment when he saw the mirror, looking himself desperately, but honestly looking the oneself who is full of guilt and regret.
♣ It is the most memorable screen which really touched me. And I really feel sad for him at once. Hence, I always warn myself that I cannot do such thing which is against the principle of humanity and conscience as you would never know the things that might happen in the future are the consequences that you can’t make it up forever. All bad things you did will hurt people and even make you being extremely guilty and regretful in the rest of your life.
♣REFLECTION
♣ My first perception after watching the movie is touched but lament as well. It really touched me when seeing the “movie” world still retaining a little but precious warmth and human love. However, it becomes sad and mad when seeing someone who climbs over the weak or hurts the others purposely to save their own life and purposes.
♣ I have learned lessons from this movie. As a human being living in a society, we need to look out for each other, even in our darkest days. And for those who only care about themselves by hurting others who will suffer more.
♣ Besides, against the complicated social and life, the movie captures how panic can make monsters of us all, and it is our responsibility to overcome that base instinct in times of crisis. In short, staying away from selfishness and fear, and try to give cares and kindness to the surroundings.
♣RECOMMENDATION
♣ I highly recommend this movie indeed. It is not just about the horror movie but also the outcome/lesson which brings out the principles of life. If you really watched the movie, at the end, you might keep asking yourself what it is that really makes us human in the first place.
♣ And of course, the actors are really amazing, especially for their professional acting, moves and emotion when they are facing the zombies even when all kinds of feelings well up in one’s heart. I believe that you’ll admire them even more after watching behind-the-scenes.
